Compensation :
Pay Range: $63,875 - $103,800 / yearly

Position Overview:
The Employee Relations Partner plays a crucial role in fostering a positive and productive work environment by managing employee relations matters within UAB Medicine. This role involves advising managers and employees on employee relations issues, conducting investigations, resolving conflicts, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies. The Employee Relations Partner will work closely with HR leadership to develop and implement strategies that promote a fair, inclusive, and engaged workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Function as a subject-matter expert to provide advice and guidance to managers and employees on employee relations issues, including performance management, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation.
Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints and allegations of misconduct, and recommend appropriate actions based on findings.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Draft, proof, and finalize counseling memos, disciplinary actions, and termination requests to ensure accuracy and compliance with policy/legal requirements.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of employee relations cases and ensure timely follow-up on open issues.
Develop and foster positive working relationships with department managers
Support the organization's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by promoting fair and respectful treatment of all employees.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
5 years of experience in employee relations, preferably within the healthcare sector
Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including experience in conducting investigations and managing employee relations issues.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
Excellent writing skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and professional communications, reports, and documentation.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions based on data and judgment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Certifications:
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification
