Under minimal supervision, the Manager Clinical Informatics (CI) supports the UAB Medicine business units in the effective use and application of clinical information and technology across the continuum of care. The Manager CI holds self and others accountable for assigned work / results through the application of clinical informatics practice standards and meeting of service expectations.
As a resource, the Manager CI maintains up-to-date knowledge of trends and advances in the fields of quality, healthcare and informatics. Builds positive relationships with UAB Medicine, at all levels, to maximize efficient and effective use of clinical information systems (CIS). Advocates for evidence-based learning and professional development practice, clinical content / data governance, and creation / realization of organizational value demonstrated in user satisfaction, clinical productivity and quality outcome improvements.
The Manager CI has delivery and quality responsibility for assigned areas of CI service. S / he provides consultative business, people and informatics practice expertise to design and realize value in alignment with UAB core values
Position Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare related field with 1-3 years global project / program / team management experience. Minimum 1 year at Clinical Informatics Level III. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Successful completion of the Clinical Informatics Leaders Program in first year of assuming role.
Preferred : Master's Degree in a healthcare / training related field, 2-5 years clinical practice experience, 1-3 years people management experience.
