Job Summary:
The Principal Engineer/Estimator is responsible for providing cost-effective and innovative estimating solutions for capital projects ranging from $5M to $500M . This role supports project feasibility studies, cost benchmarking, and risk analysis to ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead estimating efforts for capital and expense projects.
• Develop Total Installed Cost (TIC) estimates and conceptual schedules.
• Validate cost estimates from internal teams, suppliers, and trade partners.
• Conduct risk analysis and project cost trending.
• Maintain estimating databases and support benchmarking initiatives.
• Guide project teams through the FEL stage gate process.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to assess market conditions.
• Mentor estimating teams and support project funding processes.
Qualifications:
• 8 years of estimating experience in industrial, pharmaceutical, or construction fields.
• Expertise in capital management, cost estimating, and financial processes.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred:
• Experience in biopharmaceutical projects and Lean Project Delivery.
• Knowledge of estimating software and data management tools.
• Strategic planning, portfolio management, or Lean/Six Sigma experience.
