UBMD Neurology provides comprehensive neurological evaluation, diagnosis and management for adults and children with a wide variety of neurologic disorders. With locations in Buffalo and Williamsville, we offer a full range of procedural services including EEG, EMG, adult and child neuropsychologic testing, an infusion clinic for intravenous therapies and neuroimaging interpretation. We are closely allied to two Kaleida Health hospitals, Buffalo General Medical Center and Oishei Children's Hospital.

Title: Medical Assistant
Department: Neurology
Reports to: Nursing Supervisor
Pay Range: $18-$19.50 hourly
Position Summary: The medical office assistant will organize the medical facilities function to ensure our office’s smooth operations. Will perform various tasks on a daily basis to ensure high quality customer service for our patients. Expected to handle sensitive information confidentially.
Essential Functions:·
➢ Obtain and record patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other medical information
➢ Prepare treatment rooms for exams
➢ Prepare patient for examinations, including taking vital signs
➢ Assisting physician with medical treatments, procedures, and exams
➢ Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
➢ Preparing medications as directed by a physician/provider
➢ Deliver compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families
Other Functions:
➢ Managing inventory of medical supplies and equip exam rooms with appropriate supplies
➢ Coordinating the administrative duties, including patient check-in and check-out, and patient medical record maintenance
➢ Receive and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, check in patients, update patient records, and ensure all forms and consents are completed by patients
➢ Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA
➢ Perform other duties as assigned by manager
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education: Medical Assistant Certification required
Experience/Qualifications: One year experience as a Nursing Assistant or one year experience as a Medical Office Assistant required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to ensure high quality customer service.
