Your role

Fascinated by the financial markets? Are you also looking for a way to leverage your coding skills? We're looking for ambitious students to join our 2025 Summer Internship Program within our Global Markets business.

You’ll get to:

  • assist in building models (or evaluate to improve existing models) used in trading, adapting them for ever changing market conditions
  • learn and work with key concepts related to trading such as risk management, market impact, market making, and finding market signals
  • work on a hands-on project using the latest techniques from both the industry and academia, addressing real business issues

Your team

You’ll be working alongside the Global Markets team, who advises clients and does everything that’s needed to buy and sell securities for them from start to finish. We work with hedge funds, pension funds, asset managers, family offices, and more. Through your desk assignments, you’ll develop a solid understanding of global markets, while building your communication, quantitative, and analytical skills. You’ll be able to draw on the strength of UBS platforms, products, services, and people worldwide so that you can give your clients exactly what they need.

Your expertise

We’re looking for students who:

  • are graduating between December 2025 and June 2026
  • have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and above
  • have proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, R, etc.)
  • can't get enough of modeling and research
  • have a passion for financial markets and are comfortable working with numbers
  • are skilled working in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • have values that align with ours: integrity, hard-working, trustworthy, dedicated and collaborative
  • are strategic thinkers with strong communication skills
  • are motivated to work in a business with high demands and tight deadlines

We want someone who’s curious and wants to thrive in a business that never stops moving. It doesn’t matter what you’re majoring in, but you do need to have an interest in financial markets. We’re most interested to see what makes you unique and discover what you can bring to our team.

Perhaps you’ve organized a fundraising event or taken part in team sports? Or stepped out of your comfort zone to learn about a subject you found challenging? Let us know how your achievements match the skills we’re after.

Salary information

The base rate of pay offered for this role is $52.88 - 55.28/hour

Your program

On this 10-week internship, you’ll work with our experts and learn about the industry, our clients and our firm. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to develop new skills and make contacts.

In your first week, you'll experience a thorough training course which focuses on professional development and the technical skills you'll need for the job. During the remaining nine weeks of the summer, you'll rotate on three desks across our businesses. You'll be given mentors along the way and will have the chance to get to know some of the most senior members of our teams.

If you have a successful internship, you may be selected for our Graduate Talent Program after you've completed your studies.
