The Family Office Design & Governance Strategist plays a key role in setting the strategic direction of Family Office Solutions. The Family Office Design & Governance Strategist partners with Private Wealth Advisors to engage clients and prospective clients on topics related to family office operations. This is not an investment related role.
In an effort to provide more seamless access for our wealthiest clients to our most differentiated products and capabilities, UBS recently announced the creation of a new “Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) Plus” client segment and the launch of an enhanced cross-divisional client service offering. In close coordination with the client's Financial Advisor, this client segment will be serviced by dedicated groups of subject matter experts across Wealth Management, the Investment Bank and Asset Management. Why? Sophisticated clients have sophisticated needs – we want to ensure clients continue to have the full suite of UBS capabilities at their fingertips.

- Act as a subject matter expert for Private Wealth Advisors and their existing and prospective clients on family offices, best practices, operations and strategy. Lead discussions with clients about family office operations, governance and structure, including the options for managing their family’s wealth and resources
- Lead the development and implementation of a high-end scalable suite of services focused on the family office segment, such as governance & structure, design, operational best practices, insource/outsource considerations, accounting and consolidated reporting infrastructure, human capital management, etc.
- Oversee the UBS Professional Network, which includes third party firms and consultants focused on family office advisory and administration support
- Publish industry-leading research on the family office space
- Host thematic workshops and best-practice sharing events to encourage open communication and gather family office executives
- Provide access to global community of leading family offices for peer-to-peer networking
- Align offering with counterparts in Europe, APAC, and Latin America
- San Francisco, Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta: the salary range for this role is $157000 to $205000

Your expertise
Requirements and Expertise:
- 10-15 years of experience working in a single-family office or have been involved in operationally setting up a family office, ideally with an accounting background or accounting role within a family office
- Demonstrated 5 years relevant experience in advising UHNW clients in family office governance, wealth planning, corporate governance, strategic consulting
- Possess effective communication and presentation skills, and ability to engage at all levels, building and maintaining relationships internally and externally
- Self-started with the ability to work independently and manage ambiguity.
- Possesses strong work ethic, integrity and discipline
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills
- Has ability to travel within the region
- FINRA SIE, Series 7 and 66 registered or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
- Bachelor's degree required with an understanding of the finance industry
- Designations or advanced degree (CPA, JD, CFA, CFP) desired but not required
- Spanish or Mandarin speaking is a plus
