Financial & Administrative Applications is a department within the Information Technology Division at UC Davis Health that delivers software solutions and services to operational and clinical departments in support of staff, faculty, students, and patients. The department leverages partnerships within IT, Human Resources, Accounting, Supply Chain, Finance, Compliance, Contracts, Research, and other divisions to optimize operational effectiveness. The department supports and maintains 50 – 70 enterprise-wide applications used by operational and clinical departments.
Job Summary
Currently Remote with occasional on-site meetings at Hospital or Alhambra Cannery.
Will be moving to a Hybrid model starting in late 2022. New office location in Rancho Cordova, CA.

As a senior analyst in the IT Financial & Administrative Applications department, this position is responsible for leading complex business and systems analysis, testing, implementation, and on-going management of key IT initiatives. Initiatives include the assessment and leading projects related primarily to Human Resources, Finance, Payroll, Supply Chain, and Clinical applications for the entire enterprise, and may include both vendor-supported and custom applications. The position may also work on IT initiatives associated with operational and administrative functions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Extensive experience as business or systems analyst participating in large scale IT projects.
- Experience as a lead analyst/tester on large scale IT projects.
- Experience with integrated healthcare applications.
- Experience with process analysis, systems analysis, process architecture, and various SDLC methodologies and practices.
- Extensive project leadership and advanced analysis experience. Demonstrated skills to develop process and system implementation plans.
- Strong foundational knowledge of applications and underlying technologies (servers, storage, databases, etc).
- Interpersonal skills to clearly and effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals to secure and/or provide information to clarify technology situations and resolve problems.
- Sound understanding of typical vendor provided application agreements for on-going support, maintenance updates, application upgrades, and end-of-product support.
- Skills to independently conduct research, perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of diverse information, and prepare analysis and reports in logical format.
- Strong skills with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Broad and in-depth knowledge of 1-2 areas of focus in Healthcare business/operational application(s). Knowledge of operations, systems, and functions, including planning, design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant business analysis certification.
- Academic institution or large integrated healthcare facility experience.
- Experience with Human Resources, Time & Attendance, ERP Financial/Supply Chain, and other administrative applications.
- Experience with integrated multi-vendor applications.
- Ability to manage and lead diverse groups, including peers, leaders, and others in a matrixed environment to meet project schedules.
- Ability to fulfill testing lead and analyst lead roles concurrently for large scale enterprise technology projects.
- Ability to create and manage project schedules, manage multiple activities and priorities, and maintain productivity.
- Creative and strategic thinker and problem-solver; proven ability to see and contribute to the big picture.
