The Clinical Operations Division (Ambulatory Operations) offers a full complement of facilities and services including specialty and ambulatory care clinics, CCRC, and clinical centers including Centers of Excellence with the MIND Institute, and Women's Health. The Ambulatory Division is committed to maintaining a fully integrated primary and Academic Health Center contributing to excellence in patient care, and enhancement of educational and research initiatives.
The UC Davis Health Patient Contact Center is a developing service area tasked with providing the highest possible levels of patient / customer service to consumers seeking services or information within the health system. Contacts will be related to, but not limited to scheduling appointments and associated activities (registration, insurance verification, etc.), facilitating communication between patients and physicians, between physicians and other providers, and assisting with any questions consumers may have.

Responsibilities
The Patient Services Representative 2 (PSR 2) is responsible for sustaining an environment of intrinsic good will for the practice while providing optimum services to patients. This position performs a variety of duties, providing front office support for the department/clinical team for which it is assigned.
Under the direction of the Practice Manager and/or Supervisor, the PSR 2 is responsible for medical office duties which may include appointment scheduling, registration, cashiering, handling multiline phone/call distribution, discharge, referrals, authorizations, data entry, insurance verification and filing.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a field of customer service or an industry where customer service is predominant.
- Experience handling telephones or multiphone line.
- Working knowledge of computer systems and applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Clinics – Prior medical setting and/or hospital experience
- Patient Contact Center – Prior experience working in a call center environment.
- Experience performing appointment scheduling, patient registration, and/or patient discharge.
- Experience with medical insurance verification within a medical environment.
Special Requirements
- Must be willing to work variable days (including weekends), hours and locations as required to meet business needs of the practice.
- This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
