PHARMACY OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

The current hiring base salary range for this role is :

75,389.00 / year - $84,812.40 / year

UCare anticipates paying within the above-references salary range for this position. The actual base salary offer for this position will be determined by a variety of components including but not limited to work experience, education, certifications, location of the role, internal equity, and other relevant factors.

LOCATION : Minneapolis, MN (Work from Home and Office for Your Day)

Position Description

As the Pharmacy Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for direct supervision of the Pharmacy Operations team. Interview, train, develop, coach and mentor individual team members. Ensure pharmacy operational procedures are followed in a timely manner, with a high degree of quality, and in compliance with regulations and member benefits as specified in the member contract / evidence of coverage. You will collaborate closely with members of the pharmacy, clinical services, quality management and other departments to respond to service requests, pharmacy intake email issues, and triage and troubleshoot pharmacy claim issues. Analyze, answer, resolve and document telephone calls from members, providers, internal departments, and external agencies, according to Federal, State and Commercial regulatory timelines.

  • Recruit, interview and select team members. Provide training to new team members and to team members taking on new responsibilities. Monitor team and in coordination with Operations Manager, ensure there are adequate resources to meet the Pharmacy team goals.
  • Supervise and provide oversight to the Pharmacy Operations Coordinators. Schedule Operations Coordinator work assignments on a daily basis. Monitor teams' performance on day-to-day basis and support issue resolution. Identify issue trends and work with Pharmacy team members to improve performance.
  • Assign team members to specific areas of Subject Matter Expertise within pharmacy operations and assist in developing annual goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of UCare products, benefits, pharmacy operations and clinical programs; including formulary knowledge, benefit management, materials, regulatory oversight; and appropriate drug claims processing. Partner with Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) vendor to ensure appropriate pharmacy benefit administration.
  • Lead projects as assigned within UCare and represent pharmacy on cross-functional team projects. Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on at assigned pharmacy functions.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

BA / BS preferred; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

Three years of pharmacy operations or Health Plan operations experience in a PBM or health insurance setting. At least one year of leadership experience.

Preferred Experience

Medicare Part D, State Public Programs and Healthcare Reform knowledge. Experience in gathering, translating and communicating technical business requirements. Proficiency with data analysis and validation. Strong knowledge of MS office products. Process improvement experience. Background in policy and procedure development. People management experience.
