Job Description : SCOPE :
- Under general supervision, supports Theranostic procedures, performs PET / Nuclear Medicine and related functions for our fast growing Theranostic Program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Maintains QMP records to comply with State and Federal regulations.
Performs diagnostic PET / CT or Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures to include injection of radio-pharmaceutical and / or IV contrast, protocol setup, patient position, reconstruction and filming of images, network image transfers.
Start peripheral IV and access central venous catheters.
Must be able to operate glucometer to check patient’s blood sugar prior to injection of Isotope for PET and understand the range of glucose levels in order to obtain diagnostic scan.
Assists in procedure scheduling to ensure smooth workflow and proper patient preparation.
Maintains confidentially of all information related to patients and medical staff.
Offers expertise to physicians regarding appropriateness of additional / modified studies, etc.
Escorts patients to treatment room. Assists with dressings as necessary. Completes all paperwork necessary to ensure timely delivery of PET / NM / Theranostic services.
Arranges preventive maintenance as recommended by vendor.
Provides protection for patient and self in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
Conducts daily quality control measures to monitor equipment performance.
Reports all malfunctions and / or need for service to the proper company or facility.
Maintain supplies needed for PET / NM / Theranostics.
Utilize EMR for review of patient history, documentation, possible rescheduling of exams and billing.
Assist with ACR renewal.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Physical demands of this job typically require full range of body motion including manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for operation and repair of all department equipment. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Able to assist and push patients in wheelchairs / stretchers weighing up to 450 pounds and places in appropriate positions for operation of equipment. Requires ability to reach above shoulder height. Requires sitting / standing for extensive periods of time.
SPECIAL JOB DIMENSIONS :
Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, no call, no weekends, 6 paid holidays a year, in addition to full benefits.
