Job Title: Manager of Human Resources
Reports To: The Manager of Human Resources position will report directly to the UCF Health Practice Administrator.
Position Summary
Under the direction of the UCF Health Practice Administrator, a leadership capacity to provide strategic and day-to-day oversight for all core HR functions for UCF Health, HealthARCH, and the College of Health Professions and hires under the UCF Academic Plan. Consults and advises leadership on a wide variety of sensitive human resource issues.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment, Hiring & Onboarding, Retention: Works to enhance UCF Health capabilities through effective staffing and development.
- Supports organizational planning to achieve short- and long-term staffing forecasts.
- Responsible for the development and execution of comprehensive and proactive people strategies throughout the employee life cycle including new hire on-boarding through the training, development, and retention of employees.
- Partners with hiring supervisors to identify recruiting needs and develop proactive staffing strategies.
- Stays current on the latest workforce and workplace trends.
- Oversees new hire orientations.
- Administers an annual employee satisfaction survey, develops strategies in coordination with leadership and the wellness committee to improve employee retention.
Compensation and Benefits: Determines classification of positions and competitive salaries for the units to recruit and retain staff. Assists with the development and budgeting for a competitive benefits package.
- Monitors pay practices for accuracy, fairness, and market competitiveness
- Assists with executing various incentive-based compensation plans and variable pay programs.
- Collaborates and consults with the UCF Director of Operations and UCF Health Practice Administrator to review and update organizational structure diagrams, position descriptions, and pay grades.
Employee Relations:
- Coaches and advises UCFH leadership and supervisors with employee relations, performance management, disciplinary actions, conflict management and the interpretation of pertinent unit rules and policies and federal/state legislation.
- Recommends appropriate courses of action to assure consistency in application of coaching and discipline throughout the units. Looks into grievances and/or complaints from employees for the purpose of reaching resolutions for a healthy work environment.
- Advises supervisors and staff, in coordination with FMLA and Worker Compensation (WC) coordinators, regarding proper work accommodations, work restrictions, and associated leave and pay inquiries, policies or procedures.
- Monitors and verifies actions pertaining to FMLA, WC, First Reports of Injury and Return to Work.
Policies and Procedures: Ensures all relevant policies, procedures and regulations are consistently and applied.
- Develops, reviews, interprets, and recommends policies and procedures for business units.
- Meets regularly with CoAdvantage to ensure policies agree with their best practices/recommendations.
- Oversees and reviews human resources policies, programs, procedures, and practices for the units.
- Keeps leadership informed of changes, updates and new developments with university and legislative changes that may impact units.
- Ensures compliance with State and Federal labor and employment laws and requirements.
- Ensures UCF Health complies the annual Performance Appraisal process. Assists leadership team with and provide input on developing the annual evaluation standards and procedures.
- Ensures staff compliance with required training.
- Acts as a liaison between UCF Health, CoAdvantage and university business partner
Education
- A college degree in an appropriate discipline and professional certification (SPHR and/or SHRM-SCP preferred).
Work Experience
- Five years to eight years of similar or related experience. Background in clinical care in a multispecialty setting is preferred but not required.
License/Certification
- As required. Professional certification (SPHR and/or SHRM-SCP preferred).
Work Environment
General medical office setting
- Travel between two locations (East Orlando & Lake Nona)
