Duties Include
- Strategic Planning-Develop a comprehensive facilities plan that guides organizational infrastructure toward operational excellence and long-term viability. Strategic plan will align facility management practices with overarching business goals.
- Lead day-to-day facilities operations.
- Mange the facilities team, contractors and external suppliers
- Work collaboratively with VP of Business Development to establish maintenance budget and capital budget.
- Inspect buildings’ structure to determine the need for repairs or renovations, if needed recommend upgrades and modification needed
- Oversee, in partnership with VP Business Development, facility refurbishments, renovations and building projects.
- Manage the purchasing and inventory of paper goods (housekeeping items)
- Implement best practices, techniques and equipment that promotes cost-efficiency.
- Ensure that all facilities are in compliance with applicable environmental, health and safety regulations.
- Ensure the work environment is safe, operational and conducive to quality work.
- Perform routine maintenance, document and make repairs as needed.
- Schedule routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors
- Build strong relationships with outside vendors in order to develop a culture of accountability, transparency and expectations.
- Help build environments that promote productivity and well-being by engaging in space planning which will enhance employee satisfaction, collaboration and performance, ultimately contributing to organizational success.
- Perform minor electrical, plumbing and carpentry as needed.
- Operate snow removal equipment like plows, spreaders, and snow blowers to clear snow from walkways and parking lots. Complete pre-storm preparations, applying de-icing agents, and maintaining equipment during winter weather conditions; ensure that all winter weather hazards resulting in slips, trips or falls are eliminated. Required to work additional hours including evening, weekends and holidays if needed for snow removal.
- Maintain outdoor areas on a property, including mowing lawns, planting flowers and shrubs, trimming hedges, weeding, applying fertilizers, and perform seasonal cleanups,
- Serve as liaison with outside contractors when onsite; apprise VP Business Development of significant obstacles, potential delays and changes in schedule.
- Assist VP Business Development in the development of a long-term capital and maintenance plan.
- High School/Technical Trade school diploma with a minimum of 5 - 7 years related experience
- Knowledge of construction trades including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry
- A valid driver’s license and state mandated levels of auto liability insurance required.
