Summary

Responsibilities
- Develops, implements and evaluates departmental policies and procedures. Facilitate the review of QC and maintenance; evaluate quality processes and related documentation for
- completeness and appropriateness. Coordinates, participates in, and assigns procedure manual review and revision annually and as changes occur, in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Ensures that supply inventories are maintained and monitors inventory and supply levels and product dating. Works to increase efficiency and reduce waste of supplies. Manages the processes related to supply product recalls.
- Reviews Variance from Quality Reports, completes appropriate investigation and follow-up with staff up to and including formal root cause analysis when indicated. Provides complete and appropriate documentation of follow-up.
- Serves as a positive role model by working with team to promote teamwork and cooperation.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
- Registered as Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
- 3 years of blood donor center, organ donor program, plasma center, or dialysis center experience.
