Salary & Compensation

• UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications

• Ability to: perform routine electrical maintenance tasks, including electrical repair on de-energized electrical circuits; use a variety of power or hand tools and electronic testing equipment. (Required)

• Working knowledge of: various power and hand tools, equipment and materials of the electrician's trade; standard safe work practices (Required)

• Ability to: work as part of a team through close collaboration with colleagues and coordinate with other trades; work independently and follow through on assignments; adhere to department policies and procedures (Required)

• Skill in: reading standard English text in order to follow through on written orders and carry out assignments; writing simple English phrases using correct grammar and spelling to complete reports that are accurate and easy to comprehend. (Required)

• Skill in: performing basic mathematical calculations (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing); using oral communication skills to obtain or convey clear, concise and grammatically correct information. (Required)

• Ability to: establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and maintain a positive and respectful attitude; prioritize assignments and complete projects in a timely manner; consistently report to work on time prepared to perform the duties of the position; consistently be present at job/work. (Required)

• Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.

• Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.

• Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.

• Pre-Placement Physical: Employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory physical examination.

• Driving Record: The position is subject to the California DMV "Pull Notice System" and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record.

• Color Vision Testing
• Ability to stand, crawl, walk, stoop and push, pull and lift or lower objects weighing up to 50 lbs. (Required)

• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in wet or humid weather, and in fluctuating and/or extreme temperatures. (Required)

• Ability to work under adverse situations and conditions, e.g. dirty, noisy, confined spaces etc. (Required)

• Ability to distinguish among colors. (Required)

• Possession of a valid California Driver's License and the ability to drive a University vehicle. (Required)
