The Neurosurgery Biorepository and Biomarker Core in the Brain Tumor Center at UCSF is seeking a motivated individual to fill a Staff Research Associate I / II position. The world-renowned Neurosurgery Department is home to cutting edge research and outstanding patient care. Established almost 50 years ago, the Tissue Biorepository provides high-caliber clinical and research services to the UCSF community and other institutions world-wide.
The Associate will be a member of the Biorepository and Biomarker team and be involved in clinical trials, translational research, and basic science research. This will include being a member of operating room (OR) collection team assisting neurosurgeons with the procurement of surgical samples and processing human biospecimens. This is an exciting opportunity to learn about the biobanking and clinical trials process. The Associate will also be trained and become expert in various lab-based assays, including spatial multiplex assays, using automated autostainers, and quantitative image analysis. Sectioning experience on a microtome or cryostat is a plus. This is a great opportunity for those with an interest in careers in the healthcare field or laboratory sciences.
