DISPATCHER

Union Compress Warehouse of Cordele is the largest independent cotton warehouse in the Southeast and provides warehousing services and storage for commercial customers. Financially stable, growing and with over 30 years of experience, we have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Dispatcher in Cordele, GA. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assigning loads to drivers in McLeod system
• Hiring CDL drivers and owner operators: processing and maintaining driver files, random drug testing program, electronic driver logs, and FMCSA Driver Clearinghouse
• Handling after hour calls with drivers and customers
• Training new UCW drivers on ELD set-up
• Train owner operators’ driver on all trailer yard locations
• Work with customers on all delays and detention approval
• Train UCW and owner operators on McLeod Anywhere driver app
• Work with sister company to acquire backhauls for all locations
• Work with the maintenance shop and customers on charges for trailer damages
• Maintains familiarity and compliance with current DOT, FMCSR, and OSHA rules and regulations.
• Communicates and follows-up on sales opportunities, problems at customer site, and safety issues reported by drivers. Notifies customer service of delivery delays for specific areas. Coordinates operational needs with Maintenance team. Works with a sense of urgency in responding to customer requests. 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated functional knowledge and expertise in outbound transportation procedures, regulations and routing.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations for commercial drivers with recent, verifiable experience dispatching CDL A drivers with the ability to forecast and pro-actively plan trucks and drivers as needed to meet customer requirements.
• The ability to think proactively and the willingness to take ownership of the operation’s success and failures. Exceptional communication and administrative skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with JJ Keller and McLeod TMS is a plus.
• Availability and willingness to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, evenings and weekends.
