Job Summary/Objective
The Sanitation Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and continuously improving a comprehensive sanitation program to ensure compliance with food safety and quality guidelines, infrastructure sanitation standards, and employee safety.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. (flexible to the needs of the business)
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Develop, implement, and document site-specific sanitation process for UDA plant and facilities
Manage the enforcement of UDA’s sanitation program which may include mentoring employees, reporting incidents, and initiating corrective action
Audit Clean in Place (CIP) processes for performance upgrades and costs-savings initiatives
Initiate, communicate, and lead validation processes, risk assessments, data collection, and troubleshooting activities across all plant operations
Regularly inspect production rooms, walkways, equipment, tools, and general plant facility to identify and resolve sanitation issues
Maintain relationships with regulatory inspectors and participate in facility audits
Collaborate with the UDA quality team to validate food quality procedure effectiveness and environmental monitoring
Design, implement, and deliver sanitation training to all employees based on individual job requirements
Project manage multiple projects and provide regular sanitation updates to UDA leadership
Keep detailed, accurate and legible records input data into document management systems
Always maintain food safety and quality standards, resolving and/or reporting compliance issues immediately

Qualifications:
General Skills & Abilities needed to complete job successfully:
6 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, sanitation, or Clean in Place (CIP) position, preferably in a food processing environment
Extensive experience creating, implementing, and enforcing sanitation procedures within a manufacturing environment
Extensive knowledge of good manufacturing practices (GMPs), HACCP, SQF, and FDA regulations
Ability to mentor, hire, and manage a cohesive team of employees to achieve department and organizational goals
Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee and drive projects through completion in a timely, safe, and efficient manner
Detailed-oriented with the ability to comprehend implications at a larger scope
Comprehension of blueprints, schematics, equipment diagrams, and basic tools
Player-coach leadership mentality with the ability to be hands-on while also managing a team
Ability to lead multiple business initiatives in a manufacturing environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to discuss and generate business reports, business correspondence, and procedure documents
Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to occasionally work some nights and weekends
