Job Title: Commissioning Manager | Engineering
Location: North Slope, AK
Reports to: Facility Engineer
Schedule: 2x2 – 7 x 12 Hour Weeks (84 Hours)

What You Will Do:
The Engineering and Commissioning Manager ensures that the process design requirements for Alaska Capital Projects are met, and that the process design is in accordance with AK BU Specifications and in compliance with regulatory and Company standards. Guide the design through the engineering phases of projects to ensure safety in design and operability.

This is a rotation schedule which will involve 12 Hour Days, 7 Days a Week For a 2 week period. Housing and food will be provided while on site by UOSS.

Additional Information:
Flights from Anchorage to the slope are paid for by the company.

*Flights from the lower 48 to Anchorage are the responsibility of the EMPLOYEE.


Primary Responsibilities:
 
  • Understand the project schedule and key milestones for assigned projects in order to provide technical assistance at appropriate time.
  • Support the established single concept as the project progresses through subsequent project phases.
  • Regulatory and Company compliance
  • Technical guidance and day-to-day contact with process engineering contractors
  • Guide the development of the process and controls design premises to ensure safety in design, operability and inclusion of commonality and synergies of existing facilities modifications and new facilities and associated modifications
  • Work collaboratively with AK BU Technical Authorities to ensure adherence to AK BU Specifications and compliance with regulatory and Company standards.
  • Provide advice and input to Facility Development Engineer (FDE) to support the single concept decision.
  • Frame specifications and criteria deviations and seek TA approval on behalf of the project
  • Accept engineering deliverables
  • Review engineering drawings and relevant calculations, models and documents prepared by the engineering contractor.
  • Work collaboratively with other disciplines to ensure inter-discipline coherence and experience transfer.
  • Provide engineering support and data of existing facilities to engineering contractor.
  • Participate in the development of operation, maintenance and start-up philosophies and plans.
  • Participate in the project risk management process
  • Lead the Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Facility Siting studies
  • Review PSM & Management of Change documentation
  • Coordinate communication with Operations regarding process issues.
  • Provide engineering input to procurement process
  • Participate in relevant Factory Acceptance tests (FAT)
 


Qualifications:

 
  • BS Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent as approved by Engineering and Commissioning Manager
  • Professional Engineer License in Alaska (preferred)
  • 5 years project greenfield and brownfield Process experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Understanding of operational and maintenance requirements of upstream oil and gas processing facilities.
  • In depth knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards.
  • In depth knowledge of LOPA and PHA methodologies.
  • Familiarity with fluid hydraulic analysis techniques and software, preferably HYSYS and OLGA.
  • Familiar with multiphase flow characteristics.
