United Dairy Farmers is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician for our Bakery located in Blue Ash, OH.
This is a full-time position working, early morning shift 2:30 am - 11:00 am, Wed - Sun (off days Mon & Tues).
This position is an integral part of the bakery QA Dept, working to maximize the effectiveness, compliance, and day to day quality specification adherence of the bakery. The QA technician will perform the necessary activities related to the timely verification QA product requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Review recipe batch sheets used by production and conduct line checks and daily verification of compliance for proper batch sheet and line check documentation by operations. Maintain an archive file of all batch and line check sheets.
- Review and verify written temperature compliance checks and conducted daily verification of compliance for proper adherence to set standards. Maintain an archive file of all temperature checks conducted.
- Ensure environmental testing is conducted as established and required.
- Verify dough mixing process steps and procedures are being followed.
- Verify sanitation and cleaning processes and procedures are followed of all production equipment.
- Create and maintain a library of product specifications for all manufactured products.
- Verify all nutritional information accuracy for all products manufactured.
- Verify all donut decorating process steps and procedures are being followed by production.
- Verify lot code tracking processes and recording is being conducted at time of receiving for all materials & ingredients.
- Verify lot code tracking is captured on batch sheets in production.
- Verify allergen receiving process, handling and storage requirements.
- Assist in the development of new products and recipes when needed.
- Establish and create operating GMP practices and requirements as guided by the Manager of Quality Assurance. Ensure adherence to policies established.
- Help resolve Quality problems and coordinate return of any defective materials through the buyer.
- Conduct a verification checks on scales and thermometer.
- Track all supplier acknowledgements as related to any product defects, rejections, shelf life code issues
- Monitor and log all waste of any expired food materials thrown away
- Conduct with Plant leadership daily 5S walk
- Review product defect specifications and rework requirements for raw materials and finished goods
- Communicate and notify bakery plant operation supervisors and management of any non-compliance of QA practices, cGMP violations, and product defects in a timely manner.
- Ensure that plant and equipment sanitation is meeting operational expectations and compliance as established in SOP’s
- Schedule / Monitor Quality Assurance Laboratory Activities as required
- Verification of Quality Assurance Laboratory Records
- Perform routine quality testing as required on any raw materials, in- process & finished products
- Perform production line checks as required
- Verification of Ingredient Certificate of Analysis (COA’s) from vendors and maintain record files
