What are the responsibilities and job description for the Call Center Representative position at UDig NY, Inc?
Come work for a community minded non-profit organization with the mission to prevent damage to underground facilities and protect the public. We are looking for REMOTE Damage Prevention Representatives (Contact Center Representatives) but please note we are reviewing Central New York applicants only due to the need to come to the office in case of an equipment failure. The anticipated start date is the end of February.
- Seasonal Part Time: Four to five hour shifts 20 - 25 hours per week through October
- Shifts range: Monday through Friday 7 am – 5 pm (most shifts are 1 pm – 5 pm). You must be available for any shift during this time.
There is a possibility of moving to regular part time employment based on the needs of the business.
You will be equipped with a laptop and the latest technology as well as receive up to $50 a month for reimbursement of home internet services. This is a work from home position.
UDig NY, Inc. is located in East Syracuse. We are committed to growing and fostering a culture of safety throughout the state. The organization is the link between a person digging in the ground and the underground utility operators/owners.
Damage Prevention Representatives answer a high volume of incoming calls from excavators, homeowners and facility operators. The representatives will respond to inquiries and process location requests that are forwarded to underground utility operators/owners. We are a 24/7 Contact Center.
Training will take place virtually via Microsoft Teams 1 pm – 5 pm Monday through Friday, but times are subject to change.
Requirements:
· Excellent customer service skills with attention to detail
· Ability to speak with customers and other employees to express information accurately and articulately with confidence
· Must demonstrate an ability to effectively observe, listen and understand
· Ability to read & interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals, application instructions & maps
· Ability to use critical thinking skills and problem solving
· Ability to compose written correspondence
· Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software
· Must be able to work on a team or independently with minimal supervision
· Ability to type 50 words per minute
· Candidates with at least 2 years of call center/customer service experience with one employer preferred
· High speed home internet service
· Familiarity with Microsoft Teams is a plus
· High School diploma or equivalent
Applicants selected for an interview will take skills assessment tests and will need to successfully pass a drug and alcohol screening.
Salary: $15.50/hour
