What are the responsibilities and job description for the SAFETY-CLAIMS/ACCIDENTS MANAGER WITH EXPERIENCE IN TRUCKING position at Ue Line Inc?
Trucking company located in Elgin,IL is looking for a full time claims manager with experience in trucking only . Duties and responsabilities are the following
1. Claims Investigation
- Accident Reports: Investigating accidents or incidents involving the company's trucks to gather details about what happened.
- Damage Assessments: Evaluating damages to cargo, vehicles, or property to determine the extent of the loss.
- Witness Interviews: Interviewing drivers, customers, and witnesses to understand the circumstances surrounding the claim.
2. Documentation and Reporting
- Claim Documentation: Preparing detailed reports and documentation on the claim, including all evidence, photographs, and written statements.
- Compliance: Ensuring that all claims follow legal and regulatory guidelines, as well as company procedures.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of all claims, including current and past claims data.
3. Coordination with Insurance Providers
- Insurance Communication: Communicating with insurance adjusters and representatives to process claims efficiently.
- Policy Review: Reviewing the company's insurance policies to ensure coverage and proper handling of the claim.
- Settlement Negotiations: Working with insurance companies to settle claims, including negotiating compensation when necessary.
4. Claims Resolution and Settlement
- Assess Liability: Determining the party at fault (driver, third party, or external factors) and working to resolve liability issues.
- Claims Payouts: Handling settlements for cargo damage, vehicle repairs, medical expenses, and other claims, ensuring that the payments are accurate and timely.
- Dispute Resolution: If there are disagreements over claims, the specialist may work to mediate or escalate the issue as necessary.
5. Customer Service
- Client Communication: Interfacing with customers (shippers, receivers, or third-party clients) to inform them about the status of their claims and resolve any issues.
- Client Relations: Ensuring that customers are satisfied with the resolution process and that claims are handled professionally.
6. Risk Management and Prevention
- Identify Trends: Monitoring and analyzing claim data to identify any trends or recurring issues in the claims process.
- Loss Prevention: Making recommendations to reduce the frequency and severity of future claims by suggesting improvements in safety protocols or procedures.
