Overview :
The Quality Improvement Specialist, Transplant provides direct support for the implementation and continuation of a comprehensive, interdisciplinary quality and patient safety improvement (PI) process at the department and service level that is data-driven and aligned with current transplant strategic directives. Support is provided throughout UF&Shands. Transplant Center for quality and patient safety initiatives based on an understanding of analyses of results from internal and external quality and safety data, and assessments / evaluations of clinical outcomes. Support is also provided to survey readiness activities to obtain and maintain desired accreditations and meet regulatory requirements for Transplantation.
Qualifications :
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements : : Bachelor of Science in a healthcare related field is required unless the candidate has an Associates degree and greater than 10 years of related experience and commitment to complete a Bachelors Degree within 3 years; BSN preferred. A minimum of one year of recent experience in a quality or performance improvement role in an acute care facility is required. A strong clinical background and knowledge of quality and patient safety evaluation and improvement methodologies is required. Knowledge of federal and Florida state regulations, of Joint Commission standards, of UNOS standards / processes and CMS transplant-related standards / processes are preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across functional lines required. Computer skills include proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
