What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Coordinator position at UFirst Credit Union?
Hours: Between 8:30 am – 6:30 pm, Monday – Friday.
Pay: $24/hr or possibly higher depending on experience.
Your Purpose Will Be:
The person in this position will be responsible for maintaining awareness of all federal and state laws and regulations and their impact on the Credit Union’s compliance requirements. This person will also be responsible for assisting the Compliance Manager in communicating recommendations to Management which will facilitate a reduction in compliance risk and reflect changes in regulations. What You’ll Do:
- Perform an ongoing review, research and analysis of all current and new regulations and their application to the Credit Union. Interpret and analyze new and developing changes in regulations, rules and laws and advise Management of the operational impact of such changes by providing thorough written summaries and recommendations for implementation. Assist with implementation as needed.
- Evaluate the Credit Union’s policies, procedures, products, and programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Make recommendations for change where appropriate. Assist with implementation as needed.
- Disseminate information to appropriate staff, answer questions, and be a subject matter expert for the Credit Union on compliance-related issues.
- Coordinate and facilitate Compliance Committee meetings, as needed.
- Assess risk potential of current procedures and recommend new procedures that minimize loss exposure.
- Coordinate with the Training Department and/or Management to ensure any compliance-related changes to policy or procedure are communicated with clarity to the impacted departments or individuals.
- Perform or assist with compliance audits and communicate recommendations to Management. Follow-up to ensure recommendations are responded to appropriately.
- Assist with the review and updating of the policies and guidelines in the Credit Union’s Policy Manuals.
- Understands the Bank Secrecy Act and how it is applied.
- Assist with the duties of others in the department as needed.
- Perform other tasks which may be assigned by management.
- Provide a positive example to all areas in the Credit Union through his/her interactions with others.

Qualifications:
- One year to three years of similar or related experience.
- Must have High School diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
- Knowledge of branch operations, internal control techniques, Credit Union policies and procedures, federal and state regulations.
- Possess sound decision-making ability and understanding of risk.
- Proficient with standard office business machinery and software. With working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel.
- Flexible with work time including before and after regular hours.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Works primarily in an office or hybrid environment. This includes but is not limited to various outdoor and indoor climates and driving conditions. (Hybrid or work from home employees must be able to report in office if required.)
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly need to: see, talk, hear, and perform repetitive movements with arms, hands, and fingers to handle, feel, grasp and reach. A computer, phone possibly including a smart phone, and standard office equipment are normal tools for this position. Specific vision abilities that may be required by this job include close vision and distance vision. The employee may at times also need to: climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
