Job Summary
The UFP Ventures – Partner is responsible for managing the venture's strategy for UFP from sourcing/cradle of new ventures to exit (external, M&A, or new business line)
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Help build and deploy venture strategy for UFP
- Coordinating with internal company sponsors on venture investing
- Sourcing new venture companies aligned to investment strategy
- Manage total deal flow and pipeline to ensure growth objectives
- Market Analysis of opportunity areas
- Due Diligence for investing
- Building and presenting opportunities to the Investment Committee
- Lead principals through deal flow, analysis, and execution
- Participate on external and internal company boards
- Ensure successful exit of ventures and return of UFP fund
Qualifications
- BA in Business, Bachelor of Science or Engineering, or related technical science a plus. MBA preferred.
- English language fluency is mandatory. Other languages are desirable
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in ventures, M&A, strategy, commercial, sales, business, or innovation
- Technical, Commercial, and Sales expertise. Experience and credibility across multiple areas: Construction, Venture Investing, M&A, Marketing, Sales, and Strategy is a plus
- Innovation, Ventures, and Development Strategies. Understanding of the principles and application of Innovation & Development strategies and approaches (Gating, Design Thinking, Seed Launch Grow)
- Ability to communicate business performance and status effectively and regularly to senior management
- An ambitious self-starter, strong team player, inspiring and collaborative, gritty and resilient, demonstrating a fact-based structured approach with high sense of urgency
