What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Coordinator position at UGD Acquisition, Inc.?
Oversee intercompany inventory transfers, cycle counts, and quality control across multiple locations while ensuring accurate daily tracking of high-value items. Collaborate with pricing, purchasing, and accounting teams to value inventory, manage vendor relationships, and optimize procedures. Educate warehouse managers on inventory best practices, streamline operations, and implement strategies to minimize waste and variances. Utilize data and inventory software to analyze trends, recommend improvements, and maintain optimal stock levels. Develop and refine SOPs, provide team training, and continuously enhance efficiency to reduce costs and improve inventory management.
- Manage intercompany inventory transfers between branches in Florida
- Oversee Cycle Counts and Physical Counts of inventory at each location
- Maintain accurate daily counts of specific high value items
- Work with our pricing team to properly value and price inventory and purchase orders to our vendors
- Work with and educate warehouse managers on proper inventory procedure and management
- Utilize inventory management software to analyze sales, trends and evaluate components of inventory
- Quality control of inventory and proper storage of products
- Work with purchasing and accounting to manage vendor relationships, deliveries, pricing and optimal inventory procedures
- Implement strategies to reduce waste, shrinkage, and obsolescence while maximizing stock efficiency
- Investigate root causes of inventory variances and implement corrective actions to avoid recurrence
- Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and categorization of stock for easy identification and traceability
- Coordinate with warehouse teams to streamline receiving, stocking, and order-picking processes
- Leverage insights to recommend and implement improvements to inventory management practices
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory management activities
- Continuously review and refine inventory processes to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs
- Provide training and support to team members on best practices and system usage
- Work with Managers to maintain proper inventory levels, ensuring we do not run out of product
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Inventory management experience
- Experience with inventory software
- Experience with data analysis and inventory metrics
- Sage100 experience a plus
- Excel experience
- Microsoft Office
