Job Summary
Accountable for ensuring accurate and timely month end close process through leadership of the Accounting team. This includes timely and accurate review of general accounting journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, financial statement disclosures, and ad-hoc management requests.
Sets direction and strategy and drives change for the accounting team. Leads the team with an enterprise mindset on change journey as accounting team standardizes processes and policies across.
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful applicants shall be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment, and if hired, shall be subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with UGI policies.
As a federal contractor that engages in safety-sensitive work, UGI cannot permit employees in certain positions to use medical marijuana, even if prescribed by an authorized physician. Job Summary

Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and responsible for monthly general ledger closing, analysis and reporting for the Record to Report accounting department. This includes account reconciliations and analytics.
- Responsible for the fair presentation of the Record to Report financial areas on external filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Federal Energy Regulatory Commision (FERC) and the PA Public Utility Commission (PUC). This includes ownership of SOX processes and external and internal audit compliance.
- Develop strategic vision for the department, coaching, development and performance reviews.
- Perform special projects such as assigned by senior management, technical accounting memos, implementation of accounting procedures, process or regulatory requirements.
- Identify and implement improvements to add to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
- Strong analytical skills as well as written and oral communications skills
- Expertise in General Accepted Accounting Principles (required) and the FERC Uniform System of Accounts (preferred).
- Expertise in Sarbanes Oxley 404 requirements and ability to manage key controls over financial reporting.
- Ability to work across disciplines such as gas supply, rates, marketing and other functional units. Ability to communicate with multiple persons throughout the Company to accomplish objectives.
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail skills.
- Experience with ERP system such as SAP preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- 7 years experience in Accounting
- CPA or MBA preferred
