Job Summary
This position as a Utility B-Start requires general knowledge and ability to perform basic construction and utility skills such as, but not limited to, vehicle safety, material handling, etc. The candidate must be physically able to walk routes on a daily basis in all weather conditions. This position has potential for advancement into our
Utility A program which exists therefore preference will be given to individuals with basic pipefitting, basic backhoe/trencher operation, working in confined spaces, meter turn on, turn offs, leak investigation and meter changes experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful applicants shall be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment, and if hired, shall be subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with UGI policies.
As a federal contractor that engages in safety-sensitive work, UGI cannot permit employees in certain positions to use medical marijuana, even if prescribed by an authorized physician. Similarly, applicants for such positions who are actively using medical marijuana may be denied hire on that basis.

- Introduction to GOM, company procedures, tools, employee handbook
- Ability to use air, hand tools and equipment operation
- Ability to perform basic construction skills such as pipefitting, meter reading, collections
- Ability to do M&R slips, shuts offs, vehicle safety, material handling
- Good Communication skills
- General computer aptitude

- Must be physically able to lift 50 lbs
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
