Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) - Burn Unit to join our team for a 13-week contract assignment in Bakersfield, CA. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate and high-quality nursing care to patients suffering from burn injuries. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including wound assessment, dressing changes, and pain management.
- Monitor and evaluate patients’ conditions, ensuring appropriate treatment plans.
- Administer medications and IV therapy as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on burn wound care, pain management, and recovery processes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
- Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety guidelines.
Requirements:
- Active RN license in California.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Burn Unit or related critical care setting.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (as required by facility).
- Strong knowledge of burn care treatment, pain management, and wound care protocols.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
