CNC Operator Job Description
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in operating CNC machinery to produce precision components. As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and monitoring CNC machines to ensure high-quality production standards are met.
Duties
- Set up and operate CNC machines, including milling machines and stamping presses.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications using CAD software.
- Program CAM systems for efficient machining processes.
- Conduct regular inspections of finished products using calipers and other measuring tools to ensure adherence to GD&T standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Experience
- 2-3 years of experience of running CNC
- Proven experience as a CNC Operator or similar role in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex machinery.
- Utilize set up sheets, drawings, and notes from the programmer to set up vertical milling centers
- Familiarity with CAD and CAM programming is highly desirable.
- Experience operating stamping presses, welding equipment, and forklifts is a plus.
- Own your own tools
- Knowledge of GD&T principles is beneficial.
- Able to perform minor edits to the program at the machine as needs
- Be fully familiar with common inspection equipment and perform preliminary inspections of your work.
- Be fully capable of interpreting aerospace drawings, parts lists, specifications, and client requirements.
- Knowledge of 2D and 3D Machining
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
