Job Title: HVAC Service Manager
Position Overview:
This role is critical for ensuring that HVAC service department operates smoothly and meets both the customers and company objectives. The HVAC Service Manager is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction and company goals are met or surpassed. Oversee follow up and invoicing of customers in a timely manner. Responsible for management, facilitation, administration, growth and profitability of the HVAC Services Division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Ensure that company processes and procedures are adhered to at all levels.
- Oversee the Field Pipefitters, Plumbers and Technicians
- Oversee and manage the open service work order tickets level/ back log.
- Manage and audit the quality of all customer/ billing documentation.
- Manage/responsibility for P & L.
- Resolve all service complaints.
- Maintain resource levels as required, including hiring, training, competency management.
- Work with and assist the service coordinators to identify, organize and coordinate all HVAC Services Division workloads. This includes scheduling and prioritizing of manpower and materials as required to meet committed completion schedules, the profitability of work performed, based on the capabilities of available technicians, the known or expected complexity of the perceived work, and the planned and/or promised completion time/date.
· Recruit and hire capable field technicians, Pipefitters and Plumbers.
· Manage the training effort for the Service Department.
· Develop and implement growth measures to increase sales volume of the Division, included promotion and sales of HVAC service capabilities to customer facilities, preventative maintenance and discretionary time agreements.
· Review and manage ongoing service cost accounting to allow timely reviews of effectiveness and profitability of all work performed.
· Establish Service “On-Call” schedule and dispatching emergency service.
· Review and approve all Divisional personnel timesheets. Monitor field reports/tickets for accuracy.
· Monitor the quality of the service provided through regular jobsite visits.
· Manage and sustain high levels of customer satisfaction and provide solutions for performance enhancement and proactive resolution of issues to ensure customer expectations are met.
· Become involved in industry trade associations.
Position Requirements:
· Must be able to pass a background check.
· 3-5 years proven experience as a Service Manager.
· 5-7 years mechanical experience and or managing operations.
· Customer focused mindset with a strong commitment to service quality.
· Advanced written, verbal, listening, customer service and relationship building skills.
· High-level organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
· Strong Multi‐tasking skills.
· Flexible, willingness to be able to adapt to change.
· Ability to work well with others both internally and externally including in stressful situations and multiple personality types.
· Proficiency in standard office computer programs such as MS Office 365.
- Ability to operate effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
Working Condition / Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs.
· Must be able to sit for long periods of time and operate business equipment.
· Must be able to understand and follow written instructions, communicate effectively orally and written, and must be able to listen effectively.
· Must possess prioritizing / organizational / multitasking and stress management skills.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license.
· Must pass employment background screen.
