 Since 1969, Lakeside has been the premier provider of specialized behavioral health and addictive disease services in the Memphis and Mid-South region. The 365-bed facility is one of the largest free-standing psychiatric hospital in the United States.  We are located on a serene 37-acre campus in northeast Shelby County, serving as the setting for the treatment for children, adolescents, young adults, adults and seniors. Lakeside’s comprehensive programs treat disorders such as bipolar disorder, psychological trauma, depression and anxiety, mental illnesses and addictive disease disorders such as alcoholism, drug addiction and substance abuse.

Job Description

The Chief Nursing Officer has 24 hour a day seven day a week responsibility for treatment services provided for inpatient programs. The Chief Nursing Officer promotes patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Lakeside Behavioral Health. Talent Management- Responsible for retention and engagement of employees

Job Requirements 

Education:   Graduate of an accredited nursing program.  Master’s degree in psychiatric nursing or mental health nursing, or its equivalent, from a school of nursing accredited by the National League for Nursing, or is qualified by education and experience in the care of the mentally ill.

Experience:  Prefer 5 years clinical experience with a psychiatric mental health population, 3 years previous clinical supervisory role in an inpatient psychiatric setting and administrative/ management experience.

Licensure/Certification:   Licensure and registration by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.

Knowledge:  Prefer knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing principles, working concepts and theory, leadership skills, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management.
