Job Overview:
The Director of Marketing and Volunteer Services manages all aspects of strategic hospital marketing, advertising and public relation initiatives. Initiates and approves all media buys and creative design for television, radio, print, web, social media and digital advertising. Creates content for the hospital’s social media platforms, website, blog and electronic newsletters. Writes, edits and maintains hospital and service line collateral materials. Responsible for managing corporate and local marketing budgets; allocates funds, justifies expenses and serves as a good steward of hospital funds. Directs and executes hospital community relations initiatives including strategic partnerships with local groups. Plans and assists with fundraising efforts for non-profit organizations the hospital supports including the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association. Vets all hospital sponsorships. Performs proactive media relations and serves as hospital spokesperson and hospital Public Information Officer (PIO).
General Responsibilities:
- Maintains a positive relationship with the media, serve as a spokesperson for the hospital.
- Budgets for effective advertising, sponsorships and community events while adhering to corporate policies and guidelines for oversight of the hospital volunteer program.
- Manages Community Relations Coordinator to assist in the execution of duties within Marketing and Volunteer Services.
- Serves as a member of Senior Management Team (SMG) and demonstrates Service Excellence Standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Marketing/Communication.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of Marketing experience.
- Licensure/Certification: Not required.
- Computer: Basic computer skills.
- Other: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), project management, proficiency in AP style and customer service skills required. Hospital Marketing experience, preferred.
