Columbus Behavioral Center for Children and Adolescents provides mental health services to males and females ages 8 to 18. Located in the greater Columbus, Indiana area, our 56-bed facility provides support to each child and teen that walks through the doors. We work with the resident, their family, and community partners to promote a smooth transition back into the home or, if necessary, an additional appropriate level of care.

The trained professionals at our center provide safe and individualized treatment goals for each patient. Our Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) increases the development of behavioral skills that can help patients build relationships, manage emotions, and cope more effectively with various life problems. In addition, our residential treatment program offers a balance of therapy, education, and fun activities in a safe, structured setting.

We focus on the needs and safety of our patients with 24-hour licensed staff supervision, which includes registered nurses.

The National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention (Action Alliance), a public-private partnership, has partnered with Columbus Behavioral Center for Children and Adolescents, to strengthen the country’s clinical capacity to provide innovative suicide prevention and care. The partnership significantly advances one of the central priorities of the Action Alliance—to transform health systems and reduce suicides—and marks Columbus Behavioral Center for Children and Adolescents’ commitment to be at the leading edge of the transformation.

Columbus Behavioral Hospital is currently looking for a Director of Outpatient Services.  The Director is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating quality of care for patients in an outpatient setting.  Also responsible for day-to-day operations, management and development of Outpatient programming for youth ages 12-18 years old. Offers direct supervision to another employee including, but not limited to Outpatient Therapist. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems, operations of all facets of the Outpatient Program.

Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work or clinically related field. Must be able to be fully licensed with an LCSW within 180 days of hire.

Experience: Minimum requirement (1) year of experience providing direct clinical services.

Additional Requirements:  Must have strong clinical assessment skills and working knowledge of the DSM; CPR and hospital de-escalation certification.  Current valid driver’s license.

Hours of Work:  10:00 AM to 6:00 PM three days a week with flexibility the other day of the week.  This is an exempt salaried position that reports directly to the CEO.
