The Unit Coordinator at the Facility manages the clerical functions of the nursing unit necessary to provide patient care.
Schedule
4 days per week
10:30am to 8:30pm with rotating weekend shifts

We participate in the Dept of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA) Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery (STAR) Program.

Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: One (1) year experience working with a psychiatric patient population and previous secretarial experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification: CPR and CPI certification training provided upon hire.
Other: Must possess experience and knowledge of interventional and administrative duties necessary to support nursing and patient care on assigned unit. Assists in the direct care and management of patients with medical and behavioral issues as directed by the treatment team. Assists with unit programming to facilitate the carryover of therapy issues, leisure activities, and activities of daily living for patients on the unit. Must possess knowledge of dual diagnosis/chemical dependency/mental health patients; age-specific patient issues, limit setting and behavior management, crisis prevention and intervention techniques; knowledge and comprehension of regulatory agency standards (DOH, DPW, CMS, Joint Commission, etc.); staff development procedures and requirements; ability to communicate orally, telephonically, and in writing; working knowledge of computer systems and various software; must maintain certification CPR, Verbal De-Escalation, and CPI. Must possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to be a team player. Good documentation, organization and time management skills are necessary. Must be effective in decision-making and problem solving.
HIPAA: Has access to and adds information to the Medical Record. May only access medical record of assigned patients.
Environmental Conditions: General hospital environment. Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids and other hazardous waste.
Physical Requirements: Must have physical agility to manage patients. Push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping. Drug and alcohol free as evidenced by negative results of post-offer, pre-employment urine drug screen. The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job.
