Provides administrative support and oversees various financial processes for the unit. Initiates, researches, and analyzes financial issues. Participates in long-range planning and financial goal-setting activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:Manages and approves department expense processing. Reviews financial aspects of the office and keeps track of start-up and matching funds. Train faculty and staff in University policies and procedures relating to financial matters. Ensure that faculty and staff are operating within stated budget.
Manages the procurement function for the Department through iBuy and P-Card/T-Card purchases, reconciliation and property control. Manage annual FACT and PD faculty accounts. Manages the financial implications of these activities, including accuracy and compliance. Serves as dept P and T Card manager and approver for Chrome River and routine I-Buy transactions/purchases.
Supports grant proposal development by uploading non-technical supporting documents and preparing grant budgets based on a template. Handles post submission/pre-award requests, ensures department records of research activity are kept current and responds to research activity data requests. Assists with other matters as requested.
Monitors and fields all facilities issues and complaints. Plans and implements all renovations for the department in conjunction with the Department Head. Coordinates all submittal and communications regarding fiscal, space allocation, and facilities issues with the appropriate campus departments.
Reconciles department transaction records against University records (Banner); investigates discrepancies and provides monthly statements regarding expenditures.
Ensures that college and university imposed deadlines on all financial matters are adhered to. Prepares special reports and studies, some of which are confidential and/or complicated.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
