What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Assistant Professor in Anatomy _Oral Biology position at uic?
Position Summary
This faculty member will participate in teaching, service and scholarly activities in the College of Dentistry. This person may be required to direct a graduate course in the College's graduate curriculum.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement anatomy content for the predoctoral and graduate curriculum.
2. Provide instructions in anatomical sciences (gross anatomy, embryology, neuroanatomy and histology) presented in lab and didactic sessions within the clinical context of an integrated organ systems-based curriculum.
3. Collaborate with basic and clinical science educators and program directors to coordinate the horizontal and vertical integration of anatomy within organ/system-based courses.
4. Design and implement cadaver dissection- and prosection-based anatomy laboratory experiences for the College’s curricula.
5. Participate as facilitator of small group learning
6. Actively contribute to student assessment, develop, and implement effective remediation experiences for students when needed.
7. Develop summative and formative assessments for assigned lectures and presentations.
8. Mentor and advise dental students and residents in academic, curricular and career matters.
9. Contribute to the planning and development of relevant classroom curricula, case studies, and/or tutorials as appropriate to program objectives, protocol, and standards.
10. Engage in scholarly activities such as attendance at professions meetings, publications, and internal and external presentations.
11. Contribute to program databases and records systems; may assist in the preparation of reports on educational activities and events
12. Participate in College and Department faculty meetings on a regular basis
13. Participate in continuing education programs in the College and at other locations as deemed appropriate.
14. Participate in departmental and college committees Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
