Position Summary
The Extra Help Clinical Actor (Standardized Patient) participates in medical school experiential learning programs, simulating the standardized emotional, behavioral, and physical symptoms of various diseases and chronic illnesses; based on assigned criterion, provides medical students with constructive feedback on the patient experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
Follows a rubric to consistently and accurately simulate standardized behavioral, emotional, and physical symptoms for various diseases and chronic illnesses during medical staged encounters.
Observes and documents the patient experience based on assigned criterion.
Evaluates the patient encounter based on case study protocol; provides constructive feedback to medical students.
Attends and participates in trainings and workshops to learn how to portray medical patients in a staged encounter and how to evaluate medical students on those encounters.
Provides administrative support to program coordinators and assistant directors on an as-needed, project basis.
Manage day-to-day office operations. Interview, hire, orient, lead, mentor and evaluate staff to meet departmental and organizational needs.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
