Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas :
Professionally performs all assigned tasks to reflect the highest integrity of the Home Care Services Department.
Exhibits an optimistic attitude. Discourages negativity in the department.
Performs duties; including appropriate communication, instruction, and assistance to all staff in all aspects of their duties.
Coordinates all client information, Brightree notes, and processes paperwork, including preparation of statements for the billing department and CPAP supply letters
Establishes customer records and ensures that all client information and records are current and complete.
Verifies insurance eligibility of clients.
Maintains log of referrals and monitors and records customer, physician, and referral source communications. notifies appropriate personnel if a particular service or response, within the scope of their responsibilities, is required.
Assists with implementation of performance improvement program to meet company, state, federal, and ACHC standards.
Determines the quantity of supplies to be delivered based on insurance guidelines.
Assists in resolving customer equipment problems under emergency conditions.
Monitors office supply levels and places appropriate orders as approved by customer service or operations manager.
Knows the proper cleaning method, disinfecting, and sterilizing all equipment used to provide respiratory care services.
Processes accounts, takes payments, charity care files, and maintains appropriate records in a timely manner.
Provides recommendations to callers and walk-in customers regarding supplies and equipment that can be utilized to meet client's needs.
Assists Respiratory therapist in the coordination of care, letters, refill supplies, and other duties as assigned.
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical / health care errors.
Customer service to all patients / customers to make them feel important and cared for 100% of the time.
Performs all other duties as assigned by the Department Manager.
Responsible for filing and scanning all department records.
Obtain prior authorization and ensure payment recoupment after equipment is delivered.
Gathers all paperwork from the fax machine and other departments, and dispatches them to the appropriate team members.
Develops and maintains working knowledge of current HME products and services and all applicable governmental regulations.
Deliver, set up, and educate patients and family on proper and safe use of medical equipment and participate after hours on call.
Competent in the delivery of oxygen and CPAP supplies.
Handles oxygen safely : uses oxygen tank holders at all times, keeps empty and full cylinders separate, and complies with all other FDA, US Department of Transportation (DOT), and OSHA regulations.
Processes drop ship orders within the same business day that they are handed in to ensure prompt delivery to the customer / patient.
Answers the DME line and helps transfer calls throughout the department.
Keeps area clean, neat, and organized to help patients feel welcome and that they are being cared for in a neat environment.
