Duties & Responsibilities:
Hire, lead, mentor, and motivate a team of student accessibility workers for the Digital Accessibility Remediation Team (DART); foster a positive work environment and encourage professional growth for DART members. They oversee DART's work, ensuring consistent and accurate accessibility of digital materials.
Allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines; monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed; coordinate the day-to-day workflows of DART by assigning tasks, setting performance goals, identifying bottlenecks, streamlining workflows, and conducting regular performance check-ins.
Collect data and build reports on development workflows and production according to established priorities, key performance indicators, and metrics set by leadership. Maintain accurate records of accessibility assessments, remediation efforts, and compliance status to support accountability and reporting requirements.
Ensure digital texts adhere to accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1AA) by reviewing remediated files for accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
Coordinate with staff in the Office of Digital Accessibility; Center for Online Learning, Research and Service; Web & Digital Strategy; Information Technology Services; Office of Disability Services and other relevant units to ensure accessibility of all digital content.
Remain current with best practices, emerging issues, and trends in higher education related to project management, team leadership, and/or digital accessibility through independent research, participation in professional organizations, and attendance at regional and national conferences.
