What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sand Blast Operator - General Labor position at UKM Transit Products?
We are looking to add a skilled and motivated individual with experience in sand blasting, paint preparation, or general metal working skills in a manufacturing environment.
This is a hands-on role that will work with several areas of the manufacturing shop including but not limited to sand blasting, part masking for paint and other activities, part deburring and general part finishing assistance of manufactured components that service the commuter rail/train industry.
The candidate should exhibit excellent attention to detail.

Essential Job Functions include:
· Prepare substrate via sandblast or other manual methods as primary role activity and assist in other areas as required
· Able to read and interpret customer drawings, TDS, etc.
· Able to manage work flow and product quality while working in an ISO certified environment.
Additional Responsibilities:
· Punctuality and reliability on the job
· Some limited PM on the equipment and local work space
· Willing to back-up and support other shop functions.
· Able to maintain a clean and safe work station
Education and Experience
· Prior experience with sand blasting or similar with metal components.
· Understands general tolerancing and finishing
· Can work and be productive with limited supervision and direction
