Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Partnerships Summer 2025 Intern at UL Standards & Engagement. This is a hybrid opportunity based in our Washington, DC office.
This 3-month internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a non-profit safety standards environment, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop valuable skills in partnerships and government relations.

What You’ll Learn And Achieve
As the Partnerships Intern you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you:
- Research potential partners in government, industry and academia. Analyze prospective partner opportunities to expand our network in critical focus areas of battery safety, fire, and sustainability.
- Collaborate with the Partnerships team and internal/external stakeholders including Communications, Insights, and Government Engagement, to support partnership initiatives and deliverables.
- Maintain and track partner documents and platforms to reflect the status of ongoing activities and engagements. Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and briefing materials.
- Assist in planning and coordinating events, including logistics, scheduling, presentations, and meetings.
- Contribute to developing content for meetings, conferences, and engagement activities

- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- An eagerness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or advanced degree program in a related field.
- Recent graduates may also be considered.
- Strong interest in the non-profit sector and research related to safety, social or environmental issues.
- Event planning experience a plus.
- Experience with Salesforce or similar database also a plus
