The Qualitative Market Research Analyst will support primary market research initiatives focused on qualitative data collection and analysis to advance the mission of UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE) to make the world safer, more secure, and sustainable. The Qualitative Market Research Analyst will assist with qualitative analysis to transform data into actionable insights and recommendations, driving the success of our qualitative market research work.

What you’ll learn & achieve:
As the Qualitative Market Research Analyst , you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you:
- Support advancement of qualitative market research initiatives by effectively assisting with and periodically managing execution of research projects and activities.
- Apply advanced qualitative analysis techniques to extract valuable insights from research data and secondary sources to identify patterns, trends, and themes.
- Support the planning and execution of qualitative research studies and data gathering through the application of various research methodologies including focus groups, in-depth interviews, environmental scans, ethnographic research, document analysis, and literature reviews.
- Conduct qualitative analysis employing various tools including coding, scanning external sources, thematic analysis, and other relevant methods.
- Interpret research findings, convert data into actionable insights and synthesize into clear and concise summaries, reports, and presentations for a wide variety of audiences.
- Coordinate activities among internal and external contributors engaged in the execution of designated qualitative insights initiatives.
- Support the development and maintenance of internal repository of secondary data resources relevant to categories of safety science categories.
- Validate integrity of data analysis for research projects to maintain accuracy of analysis and research outcomes. Ensure projects align with established market research industry norms and maintain quality data and reporting.
- Continuously monitor industry trends, advancements in research methodologies, and emerging technologies to enhance the effectiveness and innovation of our qualitative research practices.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing networks; benchmarking state-of-the art practices; participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to department initiatives as needed.

Professional education and experience requirements for the role include:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, market research, psychology, sociology, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in qualitative market research methodologies and data analysis.
- Experience with qualitative data analysis software (e.g. NVivo, Dedoose) and/or knowledge management systems strongly preferred.
- Interest in consumer technology products, safety, and/or sustainability is strongly preferred
