What are the responsibilities and job description for the WIC Program Coordinator position at Ulster County Department of Health?
Ulster County Department of Health seeks a full-time (35 hrs./wk.) Senior WIC Program Coordinator for a grant funded WIC Program. Provisional appointment pending Civil Service Examination and being reachable for permanent appointment from the resulting eligible list. Starting rate $35.85/hr. An employee in this class is responsible for coordinating and directing the activities of the Women, Infants and Children Program for the Ulster County Department of Health. Direct supervision is received from the Director of Public Health Nursing Services, although leeway is allowed in carrying out the details of the work. Supervision is exercised over all subordinate personnel assigned to the WIC Program. Does related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Either:
A. Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Nutrition or Dietetics and one year of full time paid experience as a Nurse or Nutritionist in the area of maternal/ child health; OR
B. Possession of a three (3) year degree in Nursing and two (2) years of full-time paid experience as a Nurse in the area of maternal/ child health; OR
C. Possession of an Associate's Degree in Nursing, Nutrition or Dietetics and three (3) years of full-time paid experience as a Nurse or Nutritionist in the area of maternal/ child health.
Special Requirement for appointment to Ulster County positions: Upon a conditional employment offer and in accordance with Ulster County Legislative Local Law Number 14 of 2007 or by other State and Federal Statutes, prospective candidates for employment to all Ulster County positions must obtain clearance for appointment from the Department of Criminal Justice System or other mandated Federal and State regulatory authorities. Such prospective candidates will be required to be fingerprinted accordingly.
