Ulster Savings Bank is seeking a highly qualified individual to be responsible for the retention of our commercial insurance accounts by delivering prompt, accurate and high-quality customer experiences. In this role, there are opportunities to offer additional coverage to existing clients and create relationships with new clients. Applicants must be skilled at working independently and express excellent judgement in identifying and resolving client issues. The selected candidate will manage an assigned book of business with a focus on retention and increased client probability through relationship building and client education of other products and services.
Requirements include but are not limited to, at least three years of commercial insurance experience, customer service and account management experience, experience with Agency Management System (Applied EPIC preferred), valid NYS drivers license, ability to travel to and work out of additional locations upon request, and a valid NYS P&C license.
Position Hours:
Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned book of business
- Meet with existing and prospective clients
- Quote and issue new business
- Thoroughly and carefully process customer transactions as they are received in order to minimize exposure to errors & omissions
- Document all interactions and transactions pertaining to customers
- Comply with all office policies, standards and procedures
- Be proficient in an Agency Management System, carrier rating systems and other resources provided by agency
Essential Skills
- A comprehensive understanding of Commercial Insurance products and coverage
- The ability to promptly provide accurate answers to customer and carrier inquiries
- The ability to work independently and express excellent judgment in identifying and resolving coverage issues
- Adherence to agency procedures for selling, servicing and processing
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
