The Opportunity

Ulteig is currently seeking qualified candidates for an Internship in Substation Department for Summer 2025. The focus of the internship will be for an individual of high integrity to grow in personal excellence through learning technical and communications skills while supporting client success through work on project deliverables. The Engineering Intern works under close supervision, and receives specific and detailed instructions required to complete tasks and achieve results expected. Must be able to work out of one of the following offices : Denver CO, Detroit Lakes MN, Fargo ND, St. Paul MN.

What You'll Do

The Civil / Structural Engineering Intern will work with engineers to complete assignments and meet project deadlines. Positions are available in our Substation and Transmission department. Assignments will focus on structural components of 69kV - 345kV electrical substations, including the design and analysis of structural steel and foundations of new and existing projects. Or the intern may work on 34.5-345kV utility and renewable transmission systems Opportunities for site visits and training's may be provided. An internship with Ulteig provides valuable engineering design experience, practical application of coursework, and valuable workforce experience with a top consulting engineering firm.

What We Expect from You

• Minimum of 2 years completed towards earning a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
• Specific coursework such as structural analysis is required. Steel and concrete design coursework is preferred.
• Must be able to work in one of our office locations, option to work during school year based on business needs
• Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access), and any additional software knowledge depending on specialization
• Must have authorization to work permanently in the US

Additional Opportunity Details :

Target Base Compensation for this role is $25.00 / hr
