Ultimate Staffing is seeking a Development Services Technician for a great company. This is a long term temporary position that has the potential to go fulltime.
Onsite position Pay : $26.00-$30.00 per hour DOE M-F Entry level role for someone looking to get into the City Planning field. The ideal candidate should have a degree in one of the following areas : Urban Planning, Enironmental, Sustainablity, Architecture, Planning or Public Administration. In this role you will work the public counter, assist planning, building and engineering divisions. Process applications for developmental and related permits, explain City codes, policies, procedures, and fees to the public. Research land use info, building permit reviews, maintain the database that includes permits, receipts, plans and other documents and general tasks as required. You will work under the Sr. Planner and various managment. Responsibilities :
- Provide phone and front counter coverage
- Accept and perform intake review on engineering, landscaping, planning and building plan submittals
- Process minor planning and engineering permits such as Right of Way permits, moving permits and temporary use permits
- Maintain department records and distribute a variety of dept specific information, forms and records
- Requires general knowledge and understanding of municipal govt operations, urban planning or development related fields.
- Excellent customer service, organizational skills and task driven
- Computer literate in MS Office- Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, CAD and Geographical Information Systems -preferred
