This role is responsible for designing, integrating, and improving systems and processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and overall business performance. This position collaborates with leadership to drive strategic initiatives that support operational goals and revenue growth and leads a team of 3 engineers.
This role is located in Shakopee, direct hire with full benefits and pays $100-110K for a starting salary.
- Provide leadership and technical expertise in process development, product selection, and production scheduling, resolving design and manufacturing challenges.
- Identify and implement process improvements using Lean principles to enhance quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Assess and recommend process and quality management improvements at both department and organizational levels.
- Oversee the procurement of equipment, materials, and parts to optimize workflow and minimize delays while aligning with budgetary goals.
- Conduct make-buy analyses to ensure cost-effective decisions, preparing estimates that factor in total costs, labor, and materials.
- Optimize setup and cycle times while establishing alternate work centers to mitigate downtime and backlogs.
- Implement and mentor TPM and/or PM programs in collaboration with maintenance leadership.
- Work cross-functionally with department managers to ensure the successful execution of engineering and operational initiatives.
- Support efforts to minimize unnecessary costs related to damaged equipment.
- Promote and adhere to workplace safety initiatives to prevent accidents and incidents.
- Maintain expertise in production systems, engineering methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Participate in meetings and training sessions to stay informed on operational requirements.
- Supervise and mentor manufacturing engineers and kaizen implementers to foster professional growth and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of industrial and/or manufacturing engineering experience with strong leadership skills.
- Experience in metal manufacturing and assembly.
- Intermediate-level experience with CAD and related engineering software.
- Demonstrated leadership in teamwork, staff development, and change management.
