Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced General Manager to lead Ultimate Sustainability. The General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of our services, ensuring that we provide a supportive, empowering, and person-centered experience for young adults with special needs. This role requires a dynamic leader with strong operational, financial, and people management skills, who is committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Staff Management:
Lead and manage a team of dedicated professionals, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance reviews. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, growth, and collaboration.
- Client-Centered Service Delivery:
Ensure all services are delivered in a person-centered manner, focusing on the individual needs of each client. Promote independence, skill development, and community participation through tailored programs.
- Operational Management:
Oversee the daily operations of the day support services, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, consistently, and within the organization’s quality standards. Ensure that services are responsive to client needs and align with our mission and values.
- Budgeting & Financial Oversight:
Develop and manage budgets for the department, ensuring financial sustainability and accountability. Work to achieve financial targets while maintaining the highest standard of care and services.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Ensure all services are in compliance with local, state, and national regulations, including health and safety, care standards, and relevant certifications. Conduct regular audits to monitor service quality and implement improvements where necessary.
- Relationship Building & Community Engagement:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, their families, caregivers, and external stakeholders. Promote Ultimate Sustainability’s services within the community and foster partnerships that enhance the quality of care and opportunities for clients.
- Strategic Development & Innovation:
Collaborate with senior leadership to set and execute long-term goals and strategies for the organization. Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and improvements to our service offerings.
- Staff Training & Development:
Identify and address staff training needs. Lead or coordinate ongoing professional development to ensure that all team members are equipped with the necessary skills to provide exceptional care.
- Reporting & Documentation:
Ensure that accurate and timely records are kept for all aspects of service delivery, including client progress, incidents, and financial transactions. Prepare reports for senior management and regulatory agencies as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a management role, preferably in the social services or healthcare sector, with a focus on supporting individuals with special needs.
- Proven experience in managing teams and overseeing day support services for young adults with special needs.
- Education:
- A degree in Social Work, Special Education, Healthcare Management, or a related field is preferred. Alternatively, significant experience in a similar role may be considered.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- In-depth knowledge of person-centered care, regulations related to special needs services, and relevant standards.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, families, staff, and external partners.
- Strong financial management abilities, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to client care, with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with special needs.
