Summary: In this key role, the Inside Sales Engineer will be the liaison between the external sales team and the internal production team. This position will work closely with our customers and our engineering and operations departments to quote and ship high quality products that exceed our customers’ expectations.

Specific responsibilities include:
- Overseeing and managing the responses to customer needs, problems, interest, competitive activity and potential for new products and services.
- Collaborating with the sales team to understand, interpret, and meet customer requirements, to promote the sale of Ultra-met products, and to provide sales support.
- Conferring with customers and engineers to assess customer needs and to determine part requirements.
- Providing information needed for the development of custom-made tungsten carbide products.
- Potentially visiting prospective and existing customers at their location or product shows to discuss product design and to inform them about product pricing, availability, and advantages.
- Developing, presenting, or responding to proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions.
- Being the liaison between Key Accounts and operations by providing technical and non-technical support and services to customers or other staff members regarding Ultra-met products.
- Recommending powder grades or designs to customers, documenting how such changes will lower costs or increase production.
- Diagnosing and managing issues with Ultra-met produced items.
- Previous sales and or application engineering experience preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- High degrees of analytical skills and independent thinking required
- Experience and/or training in problem solving
- Must be able to perform mathematical calculations applicable to product application, and able to read blueprints.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- General computer skills including Office, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Must possess a current valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
