Ultra Physical Therapy and Hand Center is an outpatient orthopedic clinic in central Beaverton looking for an upbeat, friendly, dedicated professional. The clinic is ideally looking for an individual who has at least a couple of years of experience.
Job Summary:
The Physical Aide will be responsible for greeting & checking in patients, answering the phone, along with documenting accurate patient information. They will also schedule, confirm appointments, verify & explain insurance benefits, obtain referral & authorizations, explain billing procedures, collect deductibles and co-pays, prepare/file patient forms, and process medical records and supports physical therapy care delivery under the supervision of a physical therapist.
Requirements: The individual must have an outgoing personality, detail-oriented, be flexible, adaptable, and dependable. This position requires the employee have excellent customer service skills, be able to multi-task. The applicant must be comfortable answering multiple incoming calls, inputting patient data, filing, cash-handling, etc.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Greets and checks in patients when they arrive to the office.
- Maintains a high level of customer service with patients and their family members, staff, and providers.
- Has the patient complete required forms, obtain necessary signatures, and accurately enters the patient information for registration.
- Ensures all insurance, personal, and health information is obtained and verified prior to each patient's appointment.
- Maintains daily scheduling and confirmation of patient appointments.
- Collects patient co-payments, deductibles, and prior balances.
- Explains payment policy/billing procedures, and patient financial responsibility.
- Manage new and follow up appointment authorizations
- Prepares and files patient forms.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Aide Responsibilities:
- Supports physical therapy care delivery by preparing treatment area, patient, equipment, and materials, and performs procedures under the supervision of a physical therapist or physical therapy assistant.
- Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepares patients for physical therapy treatment by welcoming, comforting, providing and/or assisting patient into physical therapy apparel or apertures.
- Provides information to patients by answering questions and requests and allaying fears.
- Helps treat patients by applying heat packs and ice packs, assisting patients into the gym, helping patients onto exercise equipment, monitoring motion, tracking walking time and distance, measuring mobility, and performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques.
- Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Education:
- Graduate degree required
- Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Science preferred
- Prior experience working in a medical/PT office or working with medical insurance/EMR (e.g Prompt) is a huge plus.
The position will be Monday-Friday between 25-30 hours per week.
